Pups and Pumpkin!

Welcome to autumn animal lovers! There are lots of fun things to look forward to this fall. Thanksgiving and Halloween have just passed, and both holidays happen to share one very delicious thing in common- PUMPKINS! I know I love pumpkin pie just as much as the next pie lover, but did you know that your dog might too?! Let me tell you some of the ways pure pumpkin puree and unseasoned pumpkin seeds can help prevent, maintain, and support your dog’s overall health.

Diarrhea and constipation: Pumpkin is very rich in fibre and can aid in healthy digestion.

Urinary Tract: The oils in pumpkin can support healthy urinary tract health.

Parasites: Pumpkin seeds contain amino acids called Cucurbitin, which can act as a natural de-worming agent… but let’s not forget to give our pets veterinarian grade dewormers.

Skin and Coat: The antioxidants and essential fatty acids in roasted pumpkin seeds help support a healthy, full, soft skin and coat.

Nutrition: Pumpkin is loaded with Vitamin A, beta-carotene, potassium, iron, copper, zinc, and manganese. Pumpkin has even been connected to cancer preventing agents.

We shouldn’t be the only ones enjoying tasty holiday treats this season! Let’s make our pups a healthy, safe, simple treat that will have them saying “ruff ruff” all year long!
