Canmore and Banff Dog Friendly Lodging

I may be biased, but I believe that Alberta is the best place to live, if for no other reason than its unbelievably convenient proximity to the Rocky Mountains! However, as a dog owner myself, I find it very stressful to try and coordinate my weekend getaway while also trying to coordinate reliable pet care back at home. The fact is I don’t care much for a mountain getaway without my four-legged furry friend anyway. I mean, what’s a hike without my trusty trail companion, Rufus?!

So let me break it down for all those dog owners out there, you can and should bring your dog on your next mountain getaway. Let me give you a brief overview of some of the best and most affordable pet-friendly accommodations in the Canmore and Banff area so that both you and your pet can enjoy everything the beautiful Rockies has to offer!

The biggest advantage to a pet-friendly hotel is the modified facilities created to make things easier for you and your pet’s needs. Take note that all pet-friendly hotels will have some restrictions, most common are the following:

  • Dogs only
  • Maximum number of pets per room, usually 1 or 2
  • Size restrictions, for example, dogs under 50 lbs
  • Pets cannot be left unattended in guest rooms
  • Pets are allowed only in specific pet-friendly rooms
  • Pets are not permitted in hotel common areas
  • Pets must always be on a leash
  • Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets

For more information on the following accommodations and to schedule your next mountain getaway, please look these hotels up online and find out just what amenities they have to offer you and your pet. Let’s ensure that your next trip remains safe, stress-free, and dog-filled!
